Description
We need a strong, technically-proficient leader who will be responsible for the strategic planning of the Engineering Department as it relates to product design, optimal manufacturing processes, products and process specifications, and quality standards. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes to develop and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls and coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
This position will lead the engineering and quality teams and your primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, and assemblies.
- Estimate costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Design, develop, test and/or source and justify cost of various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Perform product/process analysis and continually look for opportunities to reduce product cost, improve quality and improve efficiency.
- Represent Engineering at cross-functional teams. Act as interface for manufacturing strategic plan and AOP.
- Management of on-site quality control.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2 years of engineering management or supervisory experience
- 2 years experience in product development practices and processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience within wire and cable industry
- Cross-functional experience within business and manufacturing environment
- Proficient in: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Visio.
- Experience using Six-Sigma tools to drive process improvements
- Ability to deploy process improvements
- Knowledge of plastic extrusion process, inventory control and material management procedures
- Expert level knowledge of manufacturing processes and to read and interpret production drawings
- Able to conceptualize multiple design options and create production drawings
- Detail oriented, with good analytical skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability with a results based mindset
- Strong leadership skills with an indirect influencing strength
- Solid communication written and verbal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple, time-sensitive tasks
- A strong team member, able to shift roles as required by the group dynamic
